NYC has hundreds of Chinese, Thai, Japanese restaurants and plenty of 24hr American greasy-spoons. It's the birthplace of the hotdog and has 3000 pizzerias. But Gee Wee recommends the Luther Burger; a bacon cheeseburger which uses a glazed Krispy Kreme donut in place of a bun. It was invented spontaneously by the late R&B singer Luther Vandross (born on the Lower East Side) on a day when he ran out of hamburger buns and decided to use two donuts instead.
